PLAYTALK® Weekly
Certificate Program
- One night a week for
10 months
Our Weekly Certificate Program meet one night a week 10months
(for the full program) which includes all 150 hours of instruction required by APT and supervision (350 client contact hours) done by a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor through our practicums. We meet one night (Monday) a week for 4 hours (6:00 -9:30 pm
class and 5-6 pm practicum) with breaks for holidays, spring break, etc. Our instruction modules cover all the required areas set forth by the APT requirements for becoming an RPT/RPT-S.

Distance Intensive Program (for those outside the KC area)
- One weekend a month for
10 months
Our Distance program meets one weekend a month (Friday and Saturday) for
9 months. Class instruction takes place each day from
10:30 am to 6:30 pm. A lunch break occurs mid way through the
training time (approximately 1:30 pm).
Practicum/supervision in completed at the beginning of each day
(8:30-10:30 am) prior to instruction module for those taking this component. Your clients will be maintained at your current employment site, though our playroom is available for use if needed.
Video taping of client sessions may be needed for supervision in Practicums.
The Theraplay practicum will be an additional weekend commitment (if part of your program) and is scheduled for
September 2008 (Thu-Sat.). We will design an individualized program that meets your needs, takes into account any training you have already completed, includes play therapy supervision if needed...whatever components you need to reach your Registration
as a Play Therapist. No need to repeat or pay for training and supervision already done.
