Teri Langan Dee, LMHP, RPT-S

Supervisor
Teri has been a licensed mental health therapist since 2003. She graduated from the Masters in Counseling Program at Doane College in Lincoln Nebraska.

After graduation, she worked in a mental health agency for several years, where she provided in-home therapy services to children and their families. In 2004, Teri started doing therapy in the private practice setting. Teri and her business partner have shared a practice for the past few years. Her working with adults and families. Teri incorporates play therapy, as well as art therapy techniques, in her sessions. She became certified as a Registered Play Therapist/Supervisor in 2009.

Mary Byrd, LMHP, RPT-S

Instructor & Supervisor
Mary has been a licensed mental health practitioner for the past thirteen years. Along with that, she has been an elementary school counselor for fifteen years working for Omaha Public Schools and Elkhorn Public Schools. Mary received her undergraduate degree in elementary education from Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota. In 1993, she graduated from Creighton University with a Masters Degree in Counseling. She has had therapy experience with home based therapy, agency based therapy, crisis team work, and school counseling. She is a registered play therapist supervisor and also has been trained in EMDR.

Her therapy treatment includes working with children, adolescents, and adults who need assistance with grief/loss issues, adoption, attachment issues, trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, and behavioral issues. Her private practice includes individual, family, and group therapy with emphasis in play therapy and cognitive/behavioral therapy. She is trained in criticial incident stress management as well. Collaborative efforts to work with parents and school staff are an integral part of the treatment she provides to children and families.

Brigette Maas, LMHP, RPT

Brigette Maas is a Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Practitioner, and Registered Play Therapist. She received her master’s degree from the University of Nebraska School of Social Work. She has worked in medical social work, partial and acute psychiatric settings, as well as out-patient for the last seven years. She currently sees children, teens, and adults in private practice located in Council Bluffs, IA. She has experience with individual and group counseling in elementary and high schools and currently leads teen groups in Bellevue High Schools. She uses energetic play therapy techniques to help individuals, families, and groups explore, accept, and heal from trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, and overall life stressors.

Amy Riessland, LISW, RPT/S

Instructor & Supervisor
Amy has a Bachelors degree in Psychology from University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Houston, TX and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Nebraska – Omaha. She has experience working with children and families in domestic violence shelters, as an in-home therapist and is currently in private practice in Council Bluffs, IA.

Amy has been a mental health therapist for seven years and became a registered play therapist in 2008 after completing the Kansas City Play Therapy Institute certificate program.

Amy Badding, MS, LMHP, LPC, LMHC, RPT

Amy Badding is a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Iowa and Nebraska. She is also a Registered Play Therapist and trained at the Kansas City Play Therapy Institute. She earned her masters degree in Community Counseling at University of Nebraska-Omaha and her Bachelor’s degree at Iowa State University in Child and Family Studies. She has worked with children and families for the past 14 years in a variety of settings. She currently works in private practice in IA and Nebraska.

Melisa Kenney, LMHP, RPT-S

Supervisor
Melissa Kenney graduated in 1991 from The University of Akron, in Akron, Ohio with a BA major in Psychology and a minor in Family Development. She received her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling. In 2003 from Doane College in Lincoln NE. In 2009 received Registered Play Therapist Supervisor credential.

Melissa taught community college classes in psychology, sociology and marriage and family in Michigan in the early 90’s before working for several years in management positions in newspapers and insurance industries. In 2003, she opened a private practice called Melissa Kenney, PC. Melissa specializes in working with children, individuals and families as well as working with trauma, ADHD, adolescents, ODD, mood disorders and grief in children. Her work with adults includes trauma & abuse, mood disorders, ADHD, grief, marital issues, self-care and co-dependency/boundaries issues. She also provides services for blended and divorced families.

Recently Melissa has begun to provide a show on an Omaha based local pop 40 radio station hosting a program to discuss mental health issues and provide updated information on national topics as well as answer caller’s questions. The topics on the show include children/adolescent issues, parents, teen issues, marital advice, etc. Melissa provides this show free of charge for the community.

Robyn Stratton, LMHP, RPT-S

Instructor & Supervisor

Robin Stratton is a licensed mental health therapist in private practice for eight years with Freeman and Stratton Counseling. She obtained her master’s degree at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She is a Nationally Board Certified Counselor and a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor.

Over the last eight years she has worked with children, adolescents, and families in a variety of roles and settings including schools, preschools, in-home, psychiatric inpatient and partial hospitals, and hospice. Robin currently focuses on children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, sexual and physical abuse and neglect, and attachment both in her private practice and in her out patient office in a local school.

Robin practices primarily play therapy and expressive therapies and strongly believes and advocates in the power of play, art, music, and drama as a way to heal traumatized children. She completed her play therapy training in with KC Play she has in 2008.
